Centro Las Americas (Centro, Inc.), Foodbank provides area residents with emergency food provisions. The goal of this program is to reduce hunger among Worcester families and increase their chances of self-reliance by distributing quality food provisions and making appropriate referrals to other services and programs.
Cento is the second largest Food Bank in the area. Last year we distributed around 313,000 pounds of food. We work through the support of the City of Worcester (CDBG block grant), Worcester County Food Bank, Project Bread grant award of ($7,000), Rachel’s table ($200.00), and Digital Credit Union grant award ($2,500).
Our food bank continues to offer services to family and individuals who find themselves in a desperate need. We thank all these foundations for their support and we encourage new foundations to join our efforts to achieve our mission.
