Who We Are
Established in 1977, CENTRO, formerly Centro Las Americas, is the largest minority led, community based, multiservice, multicultural, multilingual, nonprofit organization in Central Massachusetts. CENTRO is a non-profit, tax-exempt, charitable corporation under 501 (c) 3 of the US Internal Revenue codes. CENTRO’s primary purpose is to assist individuals and families striving to reach self-sufficiency while promoting social responsibility, fostering cultural identity, and encouraging families to be significant contributors to the community as a whole.

CENTRO’s Health Programs
Adult Foster Care (AFC)
Are you living with someone who needs supervision and physical assistance?
Is he or she over 16 years old and have MassHealth Standard?
Is the caregiver over 18 years old of age?
CENTRO will provide support and payment to you for those services. Become a caregiver. This opportunity might change your life and the person’s life whom you care for.
The caregiver will also receive paid vacation, paid medical leave of absence, and full support from our clinical staff.

Group Adult Foster Care (GAFC)
Are you 22 or older with a diagnosed medical condition?
Do you have MassHealth Standard?
Do you live in a public housing unit of 6 apartments or more?
Client Benefits:
•Receive assistance from our Personal Care
•Support from our GAFC professional staff Case Managers
•Registered Nurse and Personal Care
•Assistance with arrangements for transportation (PT1)
•Housekeeping and assistance with shopping
Children’s Behavioral Health Initiative (CBHI)
Do you know someone under the age of 21 with behavioral needs and have MBHP for health insurance?
Does he/she reside in a family home environment and have a caregiver that is willing to participate in the treatment?
In-Home Therapy (IHT) might be right for this youth. This treatment helps to prevent out of home placement for youth with severe behavioral issues.
These services are going to be provided by a team of two providers (Clinician and TT&S) who go out to the home at least twice a week.
Shared Living
Are you willing to open your home to a person with a disability?
Will you be willing to provide care and support to that individual in your home?
CENTRO is currently accepting applications for Shared Living providers. You will receive a payout stipend for your services.
A shared living provider must be 21 years of age or older and must be eligible to work in the United States and have a home setting that meets the requirements.
