Our Emergency Food Pantry Services provide Worcester area residents with essential food provisions to reduce hunger and promote self-reliance. We distribute quality food provisions and offer referrals to other supportive services and programs.
In 2016, we served 22,550 individuals and 8,463 households, which is over 10% of Worcester’s population. This represents an increase of nearly 600 individuals compared to 2015, with close to 400,000 pounds of food distributed to families in need.
CENTRO’s food pantry collaborates with the Worcester County Food Bank and other area pantries to address the growing issue of food insecurity. Although 83% of those served are Latino, we welcome all area residents in need. Our professional staff and volunteers ensure that everyone who visits receives service with respect and dignity.
This program assists low-income families with emergency food.
There is no requirement of ID or proof of residency requested in order to get food.
Our food services are funded by the City of Worcester’s Community Development Block Grant, Project Bread, and the Worcester County Food Bank, allowing us to provide vital services to those in need.
